This project refers to an area of 270 hectares extending from Kadifekale to Historical Kemeraltı. Declared as a renewal area with the decision of the Council of Ministers, the Izmir Historical City Center Renewal Area is divided into 19 sub-regions within the scope of the Izmir History Project. Izmir Historical City Center is a region that covers 2,500 years of history with cultural assets from the Hellenistic Period, Ancient Rome, Byzantine, Ottoman and Republic Periods. The historical Kemeraltı Bazaar is the largest open-air shopping center in the world, with tastes from different cultures, including inns, mosques, churches and synagogues, and counter products.
This study covers the analysis studies conducted within the framework of the Izmir Historical City Center Sustainable Logistics Plan, the evaluation of the data obtained from the analysis studies, the determination of the problems and potentials related to the area, the efficient use of the identified potentials, and the urgent and long-term goals and strategies / actions to solve the problems.
